Hanukkah retells the story of rededicating the Temple after years of chaos and war. We can imagine the the simple act of lighting the ritual lamps was one of many steps back towards normal piety. This year, as we are coming out of the challenges from the past year, we are again capturing the sense of faith and comfort through familiar ritual.
