Join us once a month on Wednesday at noon for seniors' lunch!
It's an opportunity to catch up with friends, listen to an interesting talk and have a tasty lunch together.
Please contact Har El's office by phone or email if have any questions, or need assistance with registration or transportation.
Join us for this month's lunch with guest speaker Rabbi paul plotkin:
"Wisdom is everywhere, if you know how to look for it!"
Rabbi Plotkin will talk about his new book, "Wisdom Grows In My Garden". It contains 25 life lessons that he learned from his garden. The lecture will tell the story of how the book came to be and in the process demonstrate how wisdom can be found everywhere. He will also share a reading from the book and answer questions.
Rabbi plotkin published a book about healing after suffering personal loss, articles in national magazines, hosted a cable TV show that appeared in ninety markets, and currently writes a blog. He started gardening to complement his love of cooking and eating and discovered a wealth of life lessons in the process, as well as the joy of tasting a tomato that tasted like a tomato.
Rabbi Plotkin, a graduate of the Jewish Theological Seminary, was a pulpit Rabbi for 40 years, beginning his career at Congregation Beth Israel in Vancouver, before moving to Florida where he served 2 congregations, including Temple Beth Am as the senior Rabbi for 33 years. He was a member of the Law committee of the Rabbinical Assembly for 20 years where he first met Rabbi Gibbs, and was the founding chairman of the kashrut subcommittee.
The book will be available for purchase at the end of the event.
Registration for this event is closed.
