Join Us for this month's lunch with guest speaker Dr. Larry Barzelai: 
"Climate Change and Seniors"

As a semi-retired family physician and environmentalist, Dr. Barzelai will share his experience and passion as an advocate for promoting the health of both body and planet. Particularly, he will explore their intersection as witnessed by the increasing difficulties in nurturing, protecting and healing these vital and primal life forces in the face of the mounting devastations caused upon humanity, wildlife and their environs by the precarious and seemingly unwavering path of climate change.  Dr. Barzelai will focus on issues of special concern to seniors, discussing how climate change can adversely affect them and precautions they can take to protect themselves. 

Larry Barzelai is a semi-retired Vancouver family physician with a certification in family practice geriatrics. Now, he is focusing mainly on long-term care. 
He is founder and chair of the BC branch of the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment, a physicians' organization dealing with the intersection of health and the environment. 
In the Jewish community, he chairs the annual Public Speaking Contest for students in grades 4 to 7. Presently he is co-chair of the Jewish Medical Association of BC, a Jewish physicians' advocacy group, arising from the ashes of Oct. 7.
