Prepare for the High Holidays
We will have multiple ways to prepare for the Holidays together.
Bake Challah
Each person will braid and bake two to four challahs. You will take one home and donate the rest to support the Jewish Family Services food security programs. We will have two sessions. Please sign up:
Once again, we will be selling round challahs at the synagogue. But this year is a special treat as Yotam will be baking them in-house with the help of some volunteers. Please place your orders by September 15th.
Learn about the themes and prayers of the holidays
You can read about and learn the melodies for some of the High Holidays prayers on this page.
We will have two classes to learn about the holidays.
- Saturday, September 13th after kiddush. No sign up necessary
- Tuesday, September 16th on Zoom. Please sign up here.
The online class will end with advice for making the holidays meaningful for children.
Rabbi Philip will also lead a study session on Yom Kippur afternoon at 4pm.
