Join us for this month's lunch with guest speaker Professor Rene Goldman:
“A Childhood Adrift,” a holocaust memoir by child-survivor, a lunchtime talk.

For our inaugural Seniors Lunch of the 2024-2025 season and help us, in particular, commemorate the forthcoming Kristallnacht, we have invited the esteemed scholar, holocaust child-survivor and fellow congregant, Professor Rene Goldman. Professor Goldman shall introduce us to his 2019 holocaust memoir, “A Childhood Adrift;” a memoir, he states, “written in the late evening of his life” to narrate “the story of [his] childhood during the fearful years of the Shoah. “Particularly, Professor Goldman’s mission is to show “how far racism can go” as evidenced by his witness of the peril of family, kin and community by the hand antisemitism that entrenched itself into mid-twentieth-century European life. Notably, Professor Goldman remarks, “It was a cancer in the heart of Western Civilization, not just in Europe but over here, too.” “And it is now coming back."

We are honoured to have Professor Rene Goldman share lunch with us to tell his compelling, meaningful and timely story of his life’s journey.

Registration for this event is now closed.
